Since our main app updated from MDI to SDI we've now found it unusable with background windows jumping to the foreground when clicking on the active foreground window. We've subsequently tested this using only Word and Acrobat and the same happens. If we have 2 Word files and a PDF file open, when we click on the active Word file Acrobat will jump to the foreground. The problem appears to be worse when the windows are maximised, but does also happen when not, the overlap between windows does appear to be a factor. This problem does not occur using Receiver 4.8 for Windows, only the Mac 12.6 version. At the moment we cannot provide the latest SDI version of our apps to our customers who run Macs. Regards Andy.

Regards Andy This seems to be the same problem I just described in my post for 12.6. I can't find any Citrix employee contribution within this Mac forum since June this year. Very different to Microsoft who have been incredibly proactive with their new Mac RDC app.

We've had great communication with the Microsoft team over the last few months, a welcome change to the normal Citrix lack of interest. Unfortunately we're stuck with 3 XenApp servers at the moment, but all new servers are moving away from Citrix software due to their complete lack of customer service. Hi Andy, I would request you to raise a SR with Citrix Escalation team so that we can look into this issue.

Thanks, Arpit. Arpit Thanks for joining this thread but I'm afraid I lost the will to live contacting Citrix years ago, which is why we're no longer building any servers using Citrix software, but unfortunately have some legacy servers that have some life left in them. I see Citrix released Receiver 12.7 for Mac today, but a quick test would indicate that they haven't addressed the SDI issue within it. Equally there is no reference to this in any of the known issues. If you have any way of alerting the Citrix Mac development team it would be appreciated.

We use FileMaker Pro, which was recently changed from MDI to SDI with the release of v16, streamed from XenApp servers, albeit v6 servers, but we also carried out our tests with Microsoft Word 2013 and Adobe Reader, both also SDI and the same problems occurred, so it shouldn't be hard to replicate. Regards Andy. Further to my post from 7th March, after a little more testing the main drawback and show stopper for us is the lack of access to the user's local hard disk. We haven't established whether there is a work around for this, but as things stand, we still can't upgrade any of our Mac users to the latest version of our software, which will be 2 versions out of date following the next scheduled release this Spring.

Could you confirm whether this is even on the development teams agenda, or whether we should be putting a Citrix exit plan in fairly quickly? Regards Andy.

Some users have experienced the frustration of Chrome refusing to update on a Mac. The first step would just be patience, but if days have passed and you’re still not getting anywhere, a reset or reinstall of Chrome may be in order. Download chrome on a mac.
