It holds experimental Kubernetes release running on Linux Kernel 4.9.75, Docker Compose 1.180 and Docker Machine 0.13.0. Docker for Mac is a Docker Community Edition (CE) app. The Docker for Mac install package includes everything you need to run Docker on a Mac.

Native Windows and Mac support has been a highly anticipated feature of Docker 1.12. With the announcement this past Monday (June 20th) that the beta was now open to everyone, I decided to add a special episode on my experiences installing and running the native clients on both Windows and Mac. Short story is it works great with a few considerations so my recommendation is go forth and upgrade!! On your dev machines anyway, and if you've been using docker for production on Mac or Windows already then you're already pretty brave and upgraded already anyway.
