I purchased and installed Family Tree Maker for Mac from the App Store about 6 months ago. I heard that possibly a new version was coming, though I had not received any update notice. I went to the App Store and it no longer shows the app, either as available for purchase or as an app I have previously purchased.

You don't want a case sensitive file system as some programs are not ready for dealing with fiLe.txt being different than file.txt - you'll need extra time for testing / finding bugs if you work on a filesystem that's different than the majority. To customize the Leaf text color, join line, background color & Chart Title colors, simply click on the color swatches on the toolbar. To Export your Family Tree in PDF or PNG format, Click on the Export icon in the toolbar.

You can also use this option to Export your Family Tree Data in CSV format. This can also be achieved from the “File >Export Data” option. The export feature gives you the flexibility to export your data and make mass edits using any spreadsheet application and then re-import it back to the App. Starting version 1.4, CSV files can be exported and imported with root relationships, however we recommend that you be cautious when altering any root values in your CSV files as this may make the relationships overlap and halt the rendering process within the App. To import a CSV file, Click on the “Import” button on the toolbar. You must use the provided template for your data to import correctly. Failing to use the template will make your import to fail.

You must enter the column headers as provided in the template in row 1 of your CSV file. To download the import template click on the “Import” and choose the “Download Template” option. If importing data for the first time, leave the “PARENT” column blank as this is automatically filled by the App. Entering PARENT values in the CSV may make your data not to import. The Parent Column is used when moving data between Family Tree Builder Apps.
