Most people just use a GUI frontend for Mupen64 instead of the command line interface like or the mupen64 core in Retroarch.

Even though I think that Project64 is still a bit more accurate than Mupen right now, Mupen has the big advantage of having portable code which means it can be ported to many other operating systems like Linux, OSX, Android, etc. Project64 is windows only.

I think that if you mainly play the most popular Nintendo 64 games like Mario, Zelda, Pokemon, Star Fox, etc, then the accuracy between both emulators are pretty indistinguishable. I'm actually working on a nice front-end for Mupen64 for Win/Mac at the moment.

The goal is to be a lot better than the MupenPy front-end. It's a native app and I'll have some screenshots and videos soon. I'll also be opening a beta test, as I'd like some wider testing before release. It supports: Game boxart Game Description Game metadata (players, ratings etc) Game screenshots Game trailers Game controller configuration(my next job) Customizing Mupen64 parameters (screen size, video/audio plugins etc) Full screen or windowed mode Give me about another week and I'll make a post here with the screenshots and vids, along with the request for beta testers. Hopefully enough people want this to gain some interest.
