Computers How to AirPlay only audio from your Mac. Sending audio from your Mac to a nearby AirPlay device can be a useful tool for presentations, as well as another way to listen to music. Spotify for Mac users might be a little stumped when trying to manually check for updates in the app, and you’re not alone. Unlike a lot of Mac apps, the Spotify app doesn’t have a dedicated “Check for Updates” option in any of its menus. The process is a bit convoluted, and because of that.

Hi Michael, Thanks for your continued support of SB and Spotify. Testing with LMS 7.9.1 on a 2008 MacBook (OS X 10.7.5). I'm not having any luck with the install here (see output below). There has been a problem running the Spotty helper application.

Microsoft office 365 for mac amazon. Most likely your operating system and/or platform is not supported. Thanks Michael.

This would be my only OS X machine. I can do some basic tech stuff but don't have programming/compiling skills. I could set up a Linux-based server on this machine, if needed.Well, that certainly would be an option. But it's a pity that would be needed.

From all the googling I've done it seems 10.7 _should_ work. I'll try to figure out more. No way to update the machine to a newer macOS? (But then I can't even say whether 10.8 would behave any better.

I'm at 10.11 and more recent on all my machines.). Well, that certainly would be an option. But it's a pity that would be needed. From all the googling I've done it seems 10.7 _should_ work.

I'm at 10.11 and more recent on all my machines.)I ran into the illegal instruction issue with the macOS jivelite luajit library recently on 10.11. The newer xcode compiler enables many cpu instruction features if you don't force an architecture in CFLAGS. See the additional sse and mov options with native. I've had Spotty working pretty well for a few days. Well done, Michael! And thank you for keeping LMS up to date with Spotify! Clear cache for website chrome mac.

I have noticed a strange thing though. I'm getting the nebulous 'illegal file descriptor or filehandle' error piling up in the LMS log file when Spotty is playing. There will be many listed in a very short bit of time. Though there isn't any problem with the audio. Here's an example: '[17-06-14 14:] Slim::Networking::IO::Select::__ANON__ (131) Error: Select task failed calling Slim::Web::HTTP::sendStreamingResponse: illegal file descriptor or filehandle (either no attached file descriptor or illegal value): at /Slim/Networking/IO/Select.pm line 134.; fh=Slim::Web::HTTP::ClientConn=GLOB(0x9ca5ee4)' If I switch to local music the errors stop. I'm pretty sure I wasn't seeing these with the Triode-based Spotify Protocol Handler.

Any ideas what it could be?
